The French news agency, AFP says the company that owns Fresh and Easy is likely going to close its U.S. outlets because they are a "financial drain."
The news comes 15 months after the British company Tesco announced six Fresh and Easy stores would open in the Sacramento area.
Five did open. The sixth was to go in Sacramento City Councilman Jay Schenirer's district, "It's certainly disappointing and we hate to see them not coming to Oak Park. They were a key piece of what we're trying to do in that area. But, one piece of the puzzle and we've got a lot of other things going on."
