An ARB investigation found the transit district did not comply with the Transit Fleet Vehicle rules by failing to install legally required emission-control devices on time. It also failed to self-inspect diesel trucks as required by law.
Under the settlement agreement, the district will pay
$35,250.00. About $26,000 will go to the California
Air Pollution Control Fund. The remainder of nearly $9,000 will go to Peralta Community College to fund emissions education classes.
