The numbers from DataQuick show the median sales price for a home in the eight-county Sacramento region in January was $187,000. That was up $2,000 from the previous month and it was a 22.4% increase from January of 2012.
Yolo County saw the biggest year-over-year jump in the median sales price. That figure was $250,000 in January - up 25.9% from a year ago.
Nevada County, where the median was $260,500, experienced the smallest year-over-year increase of 10.9%.
Home sales in the Sacramento region were relatively stagnant in January. Just over 1,600 homes sold last month - down less than 1% from a year ago.
Analysts say home sales traditionally decrease in December.
