The City of Sacramento is considering a name change for what's now known as the Sacramento Valley Station at the corner of 5th and I Streets. The City's Maurice Chaney says people can give feedback on a website the City just launched called envisionsacramento.com, "We're embarking on the redevelopment of the Railyards site which houses a major transportation hub. And so we want to get input on how people refer to it today and if they have any thoughts or ideas on -if we were to go through a process of renaming the station- what would it be?"
Chaney says the new website will help the City in its community outreach efforts. The City is paying $17,000 to a company called MindMixer to launch and monitor the site. The company has launched similar sites for the cities of Folsom, Elk Grove and San Jose.
