The plan being presented to the Trustees includes 39 million dollars to hire more instructors and support staff, as well as to create online courses - something Governor Jerry Brown has championed. C-S-U Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget Robert Turnage says after years of budget cuts, the new plan will allow the University to admit 6,000 additional students in the fall:
Turnage: "We were beginning to wonder whether there was ever going to be light at the end of the tunnel and I think now with the passage of prop. 30 there, is light and I think now we can begin the process of reinvesting."
