Beside the group of investors, Mayor Kevin Johnson, and his staff are also Kings fans and local business people.
Kevin Nagle is one of the people whois vying for a minority stake in the team. He says he's excited about Sacramento having an opportunity to make its case, "I think all of us feel very very good. Look, here's the situation, If you take a look at comparatives whether its metrics in terms of attendance. Sacramento's been number one in attendance 20 out of 23 years."
Nagle is one of about a dozen Sacramento fans in New York.
Local radio host "Carmichael Dave" Weiglein and two others have been in an RV driving through NBA cities for the past two weeks on their way to New York, "Got here in the deep purple 32-foot RV wrapped in "Playing to Win" logos and filled with signatures from everybody on the bottom half of the country -Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Charlotte, a few more in there."
Several corporate sponsors have contributed funding and other support for the trip. A member of the "Crown Downtown" group of Kings fans is also in New York. Two dozen people donated cash for his expenses.
