"My [works are my] own attempt to show in line, or paint on canvas, how beautiful I've found the world to be. If to the viewer's eyes my world appears less beautiful than his, I'm to be pitied and the viewer praised." ~Rockwell Kent
As it was for Rockwell Kent, so it is for me. Nature's colors, textures and contrasts are unceasingly intense and provocative. An unexpected crash of spring green stuns me out of a funk. A timely leaf opens my mind. Blue skies remind me that I continue to breathe. Art-making is my act of gratitude for all of this.
"Man, Sub-creator, the refracted light
through whom is splintered from a single White
to many hues, and endlessly combined
in living shapes that move from mind to mind."
