No Vote This Week on Kings Future

The National Basketball Association's Board of Governors won't decide Friday where the Kings will play next year.  The board will meet for three days this week -one more than the norm.
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson led a tour of the Downtown Plaza site for about thirty of the people who are involved in the local ownership bid for  the team.  He says the city has done everything it can do, but did not match the Seattle group's bid increase last week.  Johnson called that "a last ditch effort," "We felt we made good on what we said we were going to do.  I think the NBA and Maloofs are comfortable with that and ultimately they have to make the decision."  I can't get into all the details.  Ultimately, it's really up to the NBA."
Which isn't to say the lobbying is over.  The Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau has paid for a video advertisement to run in New York's Times Square from now until Saturday urging the NBA to support Sacramento's bid.

The NBA has not said when a decision might be made.
