DataQuick says the median price for all Sacramento County homes in March was $205,000.
That was up by $15,000 from February and it was a 30% increase from the same time last year. It's also the first time in nearly five-years that the median was more than $200,000.
DataQuick analysts attribute the results in March to demand continuing to outstrip supply.
The firm says there were 1,911 homes for sale in March, 211 fewer than February and a 10% drop from the same time last year.
Within the eight-county region, Sacramento had the highest year-over-year increase in the median price, followed by El Dorado and Yolo counties at 25% each and Placer County at 20%.
