Several airports, including Los Angeles International, are experiencing significant delays due to the federal furlough of air traffic controllers.
Laurie Slothower is with Sacramento International:
Laurie: "You wouldn't know that there was anything not business as usual if you came to the airport today."
Slothower points out that there can be a ripple effect due to delays at other airports, so she advises travelers to check directly with their airlines.
The federal budget cuts known as "sequestration" forced the Federal Aviation Administration to give air traffic controllers extra days off. The agency says that means planes will take off and land less frequently.
