Joan Graham of the Community Resource Project says it's a good time to bring services to the area, "A lot of people who live in that neighborhood work at Campbell's Soup and are going to be looking for jobs. So, to have an employment and training program that is in their neighborhood will help people to find employment."
Graham says there will be offices for social service agencies like the Women, Infants and Children program.
The building will be at the corner of 41st Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Construction is set to begin June 1st.
Graham says the building is named after the late founder of her organization. Louise Perez led the efforts in the last decade to make the center a reality.
