Nevada's Budget Nevada lawmakers avoided a constitutional showdown with their governor this week when they fixed a huge budget cap, but nobody liked the resulting budget deal or how the future looks. Today on Insight, Reno Gazette-Journal political reporter Anjeanette Damon tells you about it.
'The Pacific' There's a new HBO miniseries starting soon about World War II. It's called "The Pacific" and it tells the real-life story of three U.S. Marines fighting the Japanese. The show's producers include Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. There's also an official companion book to "The Pacific." The author is historian Hugh Ambrose, who was also a consultant on the TV show.

Belle Yang Not so many children's book authors also illustrate their own books, but one of those author-artists is Belle Yang. Born in China, she lives in Carmel, and also writes and illustrates graphic novels. In the late '80s, Belle Yang returned to China for a few years to study painting, and was in Beijing at the time of the Tiananmen Massacre. She's in town to give a talk tomorrow about children's literature and you'll meet her.
