Schools in Trouble More than 100 California school districts are now on a "fiscal early warning list." That means the California Department of Education is concerned about the state of the districts' budgets. Nineteen of those school districts are in the Sacramento region. Basketball Champs There was a stunning victory in California high school sports last weekend. The girls' basketball team at Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills beat a national powerhouse in the Division One Championship. Long Beach Poly, a huge school with a strong sports tradition, was playing for its fifth consecutive champioship, but Oak Ridge, led by guard Sara James, easily won 55 to 42. We'll talk with coach Steve White and player Sara James about it.
