Rebuilding Haiti What has life been like in Haiti before and after the huge earthquake? Haiti is the poorest country in the American continent and so the devastation of Jan. 12th hit especially hard. Half a million people were killed or injured and many hundreds of thousands more were made homeless. Today on Insight, you'll meet a recent former prime minister of Haiti who is the keynote speaker at the annual Africa-Diaspora conference at Sacramento State. Michele Pierre-Louis is the Executive Director of a non-profit development organization based in Haiti's capital city Port-au-Prince.
"Snap Judgment" There's a new public radio show hosted by an Oakland man. You may have heard it on Capital Public Radio this past Monday morning. It's called "Snap Judgment" and it's host is Glynn Washington. He won the Public Radio Talent Quest, a national contest in 2007 to find talented new people to make radio.
Dane Drewis About a year ago on Insight, we had a band on called Cuesta Drive. They were a tight group that played soulful, funky rock. Cuesta Drive is no more, but the band's guitarist is back with is own album. He's Dane Drewis and the record is called "Rock and Soul."
