On the Campaign Trail Capital Public Radio's Capitol Bureau Chief has been covering the two candidates and following their campaigns. She's also a panelist at the first Gubernatorial Debate between Republican candidate Meg Whitman and Democrat candidate Jerry Brown. We'll talk with her about what she's learned.

History of Gubernatorial Debates What's the historical precedent for the "winner" and "loser" of gubernatorial debates? Have debates seriously influenced how people voted for Governor? How many debates have the major party candidates for Governor done in the past? What can be learned from past debates? Dan Walters, Dan Morain and Leo McElroy join us to discuss this and more.

Elections and Voters How are other candidates for state office faring in the run-up to the November election? What ballot initiatives might drive people to the polls? We'll talk with AG Block about these things and more.

Is California Governable? Former Governor Gray Davis will talk about issues facing candidates Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman if elected Governor of California.
