Insight: Early Voting / Healthcare Exchange / Tahoe Beneath the Surface / Eduardo Fernandez

Early Voting Early voting begins this week in California. Does it increase participation during elections and how many states use it? Today on Insight, we'll talk about the advantages of early voting and what the process is like. Plus, who is eligible?

Healthcare Exchange Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law on Thursday the country's first health insurance exchange, which will cover about 5/8ths of the state's current uninsured population. We'll talk with healthcare reporter John Sepulvado about it.

"Tahoe Beneath the Surface" Sierra College has published a book on Lake Tahoe, "Tahoe Beneath the Surface: The Hidden Stories of America's Largest Mountain Lake." The book was written by Scott Lankford, Professor of English at Foothill College. We'll talk to him about it.

Eduardo Fernandez The former deputy secretary general of Venezuela is in Sacramento today to give a speech at the World Affairs Council. Eduardo Fernandez is one of the leaders of the democratic opposition to Hugo Chavez and is also a lawyer, university professor and civic educator.

Eduardo Fernandez will speak about "The Crucial Role of the Private Sector for Improving Relations in the Americas" at 5:30 p.m. today at the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law, Room H, 3200 Fifth Ave., Sacramento.
