Alzheimer's Epidemic The number of people suffering from Alzheimer's Disease in California will soon reach epidemic proportions, according to Alzheimer's Association research. By 2030, more than 1 million Californians will likely be living with the disease. California leaders have just completed the California State Plan for addressing the upcoming crisis and recommendations will be unveiled to the public today during a news conference. We'll talk about it with Mary Sundsmo, President of the California Council of the Alzheimer's Association.

Blue Mountain A new TV documentary tells how residents of a remote and poor part of Calaveras County are working to reinvigorate their community. "Up from the UnderStory" documents how a diverse group of rural residents - loggers, environmentalists, Native Americans, urban transplants - in the Blue Mountain area of Calaveras County came together to chart a new path for their economically devastated community. Textbooks for Liberia Sacramento teen Casey Robbins returns from Liberia where the government recently named a school in her honor. She founded Textbooks for Liberia after hearing an interview on Insight with a Liberian man who lived in Sacramento but was about to return to his home country to take a cabinet position in its new government. We'll talk with Casey about her recent experience and we'll meet Graham Richardson, who will be taking over Textbooks for Liberia when Casey leaves for college.
