Insight: Weather Update / Scot Miller / Young Artists / Jake Shimabukuro / Walking Spanish

Weather Update A big storm continues to move through our region, closing Highway 80 in the Sierra in both directions this morning due to poor visibility and soaking the valley with a couple inches of rain. Today on Insight, we'll get an update on all the activity and what to expect this weekend from Capital Public Radio's Steve Milne.

Scot Miller The 100th anniversary of the publication of John Muir's classic "My First Summer in the Sierra" is this April. We'll talk about Muir and his book with photographer Scot Miller, who contributed pictures for an updated edition.

Young Artists The prestigious Young Artists Competition at the Mondavi Center goes national with contestants flying in from across the U.S. You'll meet two of the local contestants.

Jake Shimabukuro Hawaiian musician and ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro is performing Sunday at Harlow's in Sacramento. You'll meet him and hear some of his music.

Walking Spanish Local band Walking Spanish has expanded its sound - going from a trio to a five-member band with keys and electric violin - and is releasing a new full-lenth disc "Wishbones" this weekend. They raised the money for the CD through the Kickstarter website.
