Gold Dredging What are the environmental issues and monitoring challenges of gold dredging in California? A series of public hearings is being held in California in an effort to update the state's gold mining parameters. We'll talk about it with Mark Stopher, Environmental Program Manager with the State Department of Fish and Game, as well as James Hutchings, a mining claimer and the President of the Sacramento Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.

"The Wiz" Sacramento State's Festival of the Arts beings this week with entertainment for everyone, including special theater, dance, fine art, design and literature performances. This year, the festival kicks off with "The Wiz," a soul version of "The Wizard of Oz." A collaboration between the theater and dance departments, we'll talk about it with Melinda Wilson and Linda Goodrich.
"The Wiz" runs through Sunday, April 24th at the University Theatre, Sacramento State, 6000 J St. Peformances are at 8 p.m.Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays and 6:30 p.m. Thursdays.
