Insight: Budget Vote / Serving the Underserved / Jamie Whitmore / Chicano Art Movement

Budget Vote The California legislature could take a test vote on the budget next week, right before the Citizen's Redistricting Commission is slated to unveil its recommendations. We'll talk about what this means with Capital Public Radio's Ben Adler.  

Serving the Underserved A former welfare mother who's now a physician assistant, has won a national award for her work with the underserved at the Harmony Health Medical Center in Linda. You'll meet Rachel Stark Farrell and hear her story. She received the prestigious American Academy of Physician Assistants 2011 PA Service to the Underserved Award at the AAA's 39th Annual Physician Assistant Conference in Las Vegas on June 1.

Jamie Whitmore A local trialthlete who's no stranger to tough challenges faced one of the hardest ones when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2007. We'll talk with Jamie Whitmore, the 2007 XTERRA Triathlon USA Champion, and find out how she's doing today.

Chicano Art Movement Jorge Santana of Malo and poet Jose Montoya celebrate the Chicano art movement with a concert next week in Cesar Chavez Park. You'll meet them both.
