Insight: Budget Effects On Employment / Marcos Breton / Budget Impact on Higher Education / Violent Video Game Ruling

Budget Effect on Employment UC Berkeley Labor Center released a study predicting that 2010's budget would lead to the loss of more than 300,000 full-time jobs in California.  Jeffrey Callison asks Ken Jacobs, chair of the Labor Center and co-author of the study, what impact did the budget really had on employment, and looks at this year's budget.

Marcos Breton Bee columnist Marcos Breton joins us the first Wednesday of each month; his columns appear each Wednesday and Sunday in the Bee's Our Region section.  He'll talk with Jeffrey Callison about Sacramento's budget issues.

Budget Impact on CSU/UC This year's drastic cost-cutting budget has forced officials at area universities to come up with new revenue-generating measures to offset the shortfall from the state. We'll talk to UC and CSU officials about how they intend to compensate for the cuts, and where they are planning to find new sources of revenue.

Violent Video Game Ban Ruling The United States Supreme Court ruled that California's ban on violent video game sales to kids is unconstitutional. Proponents of the video game ban say they're preparing another approach to ban violent games.  We'll talk with UC Davis law professor Carlton Larson about the probability of banning violent video games after the Supreme Court rejected the idea.
