Insight: City Pool Closures / Legislature Back in Session / Spring Warren

City Pool Closures Sacramento has closed half of its 13 pools in the past couple years.  Next summer, the city will only have money to operate three city pools with limited hours. Capital Public Radio's Environmental Reporter took a closer look at the situation Today on Insight, we'll talk about all of this with reporter Joe Rubin. Plus, we'll hear from Sacramento City Councilmember Kevin McCarty about how he prioritizes pools and recreation for his district.

Legislature Back in Session The California State Legislature is back in session today. We'll talk with Capitol Reporter Ben Adler about what is coming up next in the legislative session for pensions, regulatory reform and more.

Spring Warren Davis-based author Spring Warren recently released "The Quarter-Acre Farm: How I Kept the Patio, Lost the Lawn, and Fed My Family for a Year." The book tells the story of how she turned her front and back yard, which is less than a quarter acre in size, into a farm. We talk with her about her decision to take on the challenge of eating 75 percent of her food from her own garden. This segment originally aired April 28, 2011.
