Congressional Debt Panel Xavier Becerra (D-Los Angeles) is the top Democrat on the bipartisan congressional debt panel subcommittee and he's a native of Sacramento - McClatchy High, Class of 1976. We'll talk with him about what he expects the panel to accomplish. 

Sacramento's New City Manager After a long search, the City of Sacramento has hired John F. Shirey as its new city manager. We'll talk to Shirey about his experience as city manager in Cincinnati during the 2001 race riots, his opposition to a strong mayor, and his expectations for the future of Sacramento.

For Debt Panel's Becerra, No Egos While Negotiating
Before Congress created a supercommittee tasked with finding a way to slice $1 trillion from the federal deficit, California Democratic Rep. Xavier Becerra said Social Security should be protected. Now that he's on the panel, he's going to have to work with Republicans who might not agree.
