Juvenile and Gestational Diabetes Managing a child's diabetes is not as restrictive as it was in the past.  Children and teenagers on insulin can now eat sweets and sugary foods, but should they?  Dr. Gnanagurudasan Prakasam, a pediatrician explains. Also, a growing concern for doctors is gestational diabetes, which affects pregnant women.  Dr. Sherri McElvy, OBGYN, explains what gestational diabetes is, and what it means for expecting mothers and their unborn children.  And we'll speak with Dr. Jeanne Conry, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who has been with Kaiser Permanente for more than 20 years.
