The Wipe Out Gene - In Tapachula, Mexico researchers are testing a genetically engineered strain of mosquitoes designed to wipe out disease-carrying native mosquitoes. But there are no international regulations of genetically modified organisms, and experts worry scientists are being too quick to introduce GM insects into foreign countries with lax regulations, which may cause a worldwide backlash against this type of research.
