Cool California Challenge
Citrus Heights, and a growing list of California cities will
compete in a challenge to see which community can reduce its
greenhouse gases the most. Businesses and individuals
are encouraged to participate in the Cool California Challenge
by tracking and
lowering their carbon footprint with an online calculator that
tracks the greenhouse gases produced in normal daily activity.
Hiking the snow-covered slopes
north of Tehran as a pair of Americans were being held captive and
relations between the United States and Iran were not at their
height might not sound all that appealing to most people. But
Northern California author Gregory Crouch
did just that, and lived to
write about it. His article about hiking in Iran during the
late spring of 2011 has just been published in the April edition of
the Atlantic. He also has a new book about the history of
aviation in China during the 1930s called "China Wings: War,
Intrigue, Romance and Adventure in the Middle Kingdom during the
Golden Age of Flight."
