What's new in Marysville and Yuba City? We'll hear from the Appeal-Democrat; Can a 4.5 billion years old meteorite tell when life began? Critics rave about an original adaptation of Hansel and Gretel; Feed my Soul, a new CD by the Holmes Brothers.
News Network, Appeal Democrat Our
signature segment focuses today on what's making news in Marysville
and Yuba City with Appeal-Democrat editor Len La Barth. Here is a link to an
Appeal-Democrat video honoring U.S. Army Spc. Chase S.
Marta, 24, who was one of three soldiers killed in Ghazni province
when his unit was hit by an improvised explosive device.
The Lotus Valley Meteorite Professor Qing-Zhu Yin will review what
scientists can learn about the origin of our solar system from
meteorites like the one that fell in Lotus Valley; why
scientists need a lot more materials from meteorites to be able to
understand ultimately where we come from; how to identify the
general features of such specimens in the field, with examples from
the Lotus Valley fall; how to handle the sample for safe storage.
Hansel and Gretel Critics are giving B Street
Theatre's original adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm
fable "Hansel and Gretel" great reviews. It was
co-written by an 11-year-old. The production, which is
intended for young children, was adapted by B Street Theatre's
Associate Producer, Jerry Montoya, and his son Malachi. The
father and son writing team join us in our studio with two actors,
who will perform a short scene.
The Holmes BrothersThe Holmes Brothers have been performing their
blend of blues, gospel, soul, rock n roll and country for more than
30 years. Touring in support of their new CD "Feed My Soul," the
Holmes Brothers are performing Thursday, May 24 in
Sacramento, at Harlow's.
