Distracted Driving With May being "Global
Youth Traffic Safety Month", new studies released by the California Office of Traffic Safety and
AT&T show that distracted driving is on the rise, especially
among young people. The main distractions are cell phone use
and texting while driving. We'll speak with officials from
both the California Office of Traffic Safety and AT&T to
find out what's being done in terms of awareness campaigns or
outreach programs to curb such dangerous driving habits.
State of State Parks What's the status
of California's
State Parks as we head into Memorial Day Weekend, which is
traditionally a big weekend for state park visitors? We'll speak
with the Director of California State Parks, Ruth
Coleman.
Saving State Parks There are a couple of
different efforts trying to save some California State Parks. We
talk with the California lawmaker whose authored a bill that
would require the Parks Dept to find alternatives before closing a
park and making the process more transparent. Plus, the director of
a non-profit
foundation committed to keeping parks open using volunteers and
donations.
Commanders Jazz Ensemble The Commanders Jazz Ensemble is an Air Force band
from Travis Air Force Base that provides the soundtrack for any
major military event. They also play some pretty darn good jazz.
The group will be performing Memorial Day at the Sacramento Music
Festival.
