Violence in Syria The European Union tightened sanctions and strengthened an arms embargo on Syria this week as violence continues to escalate. Keith Watenpaugh, an associate professor of Modern Islam and the Middle East and Director of the UC Davis Human Rights Institute, has been following the country's civil war since the uprising began in March of 2011. Yoga 101 Wanderlust Festival is this weekend at Squaw Valley, and if you're familiar with the festival you've seen it progress from a music festival with yoga on the side to a yoga festival with music on the side. Yoga is nothing new but it's popularity seems to be on an upswing. What is it about yoga that is so appealing to people? And before we can answer that question, what exactly is yoga? Here to shine some insight on the subject is Gina Garcia, Founder of Yoga Across America and Yoga in the Park, which takes place every Saturday morning at McKinley Park.  She also teaches yoga to veterans returning from war.
