Sac Hop 2012 JE Paino is the man behind the rebirth of one of Sacramento's oldest beers: Ruhstaller.  Now, Paino is attempting to revive another Sacramento tradition: cultivating hops.  The region was once hops capital of the United States but hasn't grown the beer ingredient in over two decades.  Paino started planting in April and harvested in August.  Now, in limited stock at select locations, the fruits of his labors are available for your tasting in the form of Hop Sac 2012, a limited release by Ruhstaller available since October 1, 2012 and brewed with 94 percent of its ingredients coming from California.
