Election Polling Candidates and campaigns are
making one last push before the polls close tomorrow on voting for
the 2012 election. It's still hard to tell how many Californians
will or hae already voted, but The Field
Poll has been tracking the trends. We'll talk numbers with Mark
DiCamillo, Direcor of The Field Poll.
Proposition Song Just in case you're still
not sure what proposition is which, the California Voter
Foundation wants to help. We'll talk with Kim Alexander,
President and Founder of the California Voter Foundation, and hear
the organization's 2012 Proposition Song.
Measure M In the City of Sacramento, Measure M would create a charter commission to
study the cities' charter and make recommendations for improvements
and reforms. A yes vote establishes the commission and the ballot
will include 54 different candidates for 15 volunteer spots. A no
vote means no commission is started and the 15 spots are moot.
We'll hear arguments for and against in a report by Capital Public
Radio's Bob
Moffitt. We'll also talk about it with Jared Goyette,
Editor-in-Chief of the Sacramento Press.
KZAP on KDVS The former DJs of legendary
Sacramento radio station KZAP (98.5 FM) will be spinning their music on
the airwaves of UC Davis' student radio station KDVS for 48 hours
straight starting at 6 a.m. on the anniversary of KZAP signing onto
the airwaves in 1968. Joining us to reminisce are Jeff Hughson, one
of the original founders of the station, and Zack Bols, who handled
mornings in 1973-1974.
"For Colored Girls" Sacramento State's
Department of Theatre and Dance is staging "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide
When the Rainbow is Enuf." The 20-part poem by Ntozake Shange
was turned into a stage play, released as a book and then adapted
as a movie starring Janet Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg. We'll hear
about the production from Dr. Melinda Wilson Ramey, who is the
Chair of the department and directs this production. We'll also
hear brief monologues from two of the actresses: Diona Burnett, who
plays the Lady in Green, and Ure Egbuho, who plays the Lady in
Red.
