"Digital Dead End" - Teacher and activist
Virginia Eubanks has written a book about technology and how it can
be both a tool of liberation and a means of oppression for poor and
working-class women and families. "Digital Dead End: Fighting for
Social Justice in the Information Age" is now out in paperback and
Eubanks will be speaking about the book and her work with Our
Knowledge, Our Power - a grassroots anti-poverty and welfare rights
organization - tonight at Time Tested Books in Sacramento.
Atheism vs. Theism - If you're an atheist, it

Charles Darwin, turns 204 today. And if you're religious, well that
may not please you as much. But which camp do you fall into?

medical doctor and an author who takes a reasoned approach to
figuring out why people choose religion or not. Pandit is speaking
at Sierra College's Weaver Hall Tuesday at 6:00 and
Wednesday at 6:00.
"Etiquette of Kindness" - For 14 years,
Suzanne-Marie English has taught etiquette classes to sixth,
seventh and eighth graders in Northern California. Now she's put
her classes into book form. "The Etiquette of Kindness" was
released in November of 2012 and she'll be signing books Feb. 23 in
El Dorado Hills.
