Realignment Ups and Downs Since California began transferring massive numbers of state prisoners to county jails in 2011 the number of fugitive sex offenders has jumped and crime in Sacramento since increased for the first time in five years.  Realignment is being held responsible for these developing crime trends, but is the blame warranted?  We'll speak with Jeffrey Callison of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Don Thompson, an AP reporter who covers realignment in his beat.

Project-Based Learning For the next installment in our occasional series on alternative education styles we look at West Sacramento Early College Prep Charter School and its use of project-based learning.  This style of education emphasizes student collaboration and the teacher serves as more of a facilitator to learning rather than an instructor.  To learn more about project-based learning we're speaking with two teachers from West Sac Prep and a professor who teaches this style to future educators at Sacramento State University.
