New Pope Cardinals at the Vatican have elected Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina as the first Latin American to head the Roman Catholic Church. He's also the first Jesuit to fill the church's top post. Joining us to explain how Jesuits and other Catholics in the Sacramento region are reacting to the news is Reverend Monsignor James T. Murphy with the Roman Catholic Diocese in Sacramento and Father David Suwalsky from Jesuit High School.

Brain Regulators They seek and destroy with an insatiable appetite for brains. No, it's not the zombie apocalypse. Researchers at UC Davis' Mind Institute have discovered that microglia cells are eating excess neurons and regulating brain growth during development. This discovery could help scientists find the cause of developmental disorders like autism or schizophrenia, which have been attributed to unregulated brain growth during development. We'll speak with Dr. Stephen C. Noctor, the lead author of the research paper, which was recently published in The Journal of Neuroscience.
