A week after a Sacramento City Council meeting ended amid protests over the shooting death of Stephon Clark, the council returned to hear from those who did not get to speak. Many had spent the afternoon protesting at the Sacramento D.A.'s office.

The Clark family commissioned an independent autopsy, which indicated that the unarmed black 22-year-old was shot eight times, most of them in the back. Protests in the streets lasted past midnight.

Holding signs that read “Enough is enough” and “Leave the gun, take the cannoli,” young people led a march down Capitol Mall. The crowd also chanted "Stephon Clark," in honor of the young unarmed black man killed by police this week.

Demonstrators took to the streets of downtown Sacramento again on Friday afternoon to protest the police shooting of Stephon Clark. And at night, hundreds marched through South Sac neighborhoods in a largely peaceful gathering.
