“From the mega churches to the mega temples, we have really good response going on… in the Southern California area especially.”
Dana Howard of the exchange says Jewish, Muslim and Christian groups have been involved. He says this weekend, a megachurch in Southern California may bring out thousands of their congregants to an enrollment fair.
“What it can do is capture those people who have been sitting on the fence so to speak, and if they’re going to get the information, religious organizations are a great place where they can feel comfortable that what they’ll getting is going to be for their best benefit.”
Howard says faith groups are a trusted source of information for large numbers of people who may qualify for financial assistance.
He says the exchange is focused on enrolling people in San Bernadino, Riverside, and Los Angeles counties, as well as the Central Valley.
