Air districts in the Sacramento region are discouraging residents from burning wood Tuesday.

Burning wood, pellets, manufactured logs or other solid fuel creates fine particulate pollution.
In Sacramento County, people must check before they burn.
If the air pollution reaches a certain level, a no burn advisory is issued in the county.
Christina Ragsdale is with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.
She says during those "bad air" days, inspectors are on the street looking for violators.
"They will circulate in areas where we've had prior complaints, and if they observe smoke coming from a chimney - this is a visible law - they will document that and photograph it and the homeowner will be sent a notice," says Ragsdale.
Ragsdale says violators must take a test about the health issues caused by burning wood.
"No burn" rules are enforced November through February.
