Sacramento Region To Experience Another Foggy Morning

It's another foggy morning in the Sacramento region.

Mike Smith is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says visibility is about a quarter of a mile Friday morning. Smith says the drought may have something to do with the fact that we haven't seen this kind of fog in awhile.

"I would say it is a little bit worse the last few days than we've seen in probably a couple of years," says Smith.

Smith says we're in for a couple more nights and mornings of fog, but it shouldn't be as dense as it was earlier this week. He says a weather system moving in over the weekend will bring some rain to the northern part of the state, but Sacramento probably won't get more than a few sprinkles.

"It probably does have something to do with the fact that we've had so little rain over the last couple of years, and you just need that ground moisture to have the fog," says Smith. "The conditions were there; we just didn't have the moisture."
