3:55 P.M. Two patients were tested for Ebola in Sacramento this week and both were found free of the virus.
A patient at Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento tested negative for the Ebola virus Friday. Kaiser says the patient is in good condition and is being discharged.
This morning, state health officials said a UC Davis Medical Center patient has tested negative for the virus.
Both facilities are on a list of 48 hospitals in the U.S. with Ebola treatment hospitals.
12:53 P.M. Media reports indicate that another person is being tested for ebola in a south Sacramento County hospital.
Fox 40 reports the patient is being treated at Kaiser South located in South Sacramento and the patient is considered low risk.
Kaiser South is designated as an ebola treatment centers in California.
9:30 A.M. California and Sacramento County public health officials say a patient who had symptoms consistent with the Ebola virus has tested negative for the disease. The test was done by the Sacramento County Public Health Laboratory.
The patient was under care in an isolation unit at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, which has been designated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a priority hospital to treat Ebola patients. The patient was transferred to UC Davis Medical Center from Mercy General downtown yesterday due to the symptoms and a history of travel to an Ebola-affected country.
Sacramento County Health Officer, Dr. Olivia Kasirye said the "expediency" of the investigation helped to preserve resources for other needs.
The California Department of Public Health says there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in California.
