Several Fires Burning Around Sacramento City

5:46 p.m. - Sacramento Fire PIO Roberto Padilla says they still mopping up the grass fires over by the American River Parkway. He says the dog that died had been tied to a tree.

“We believe that the dog was part of a homeless encampment.”

The first at the recycling center on Berry and Power Inn roads is still burning and Padilla expects to be there all night. 

The causes of both incidents are still unknown. 

 

4:30 p.m. - A large commercial fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at a recycling center in South Sacramento. Sacramento Fire Department and Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the incident.

Sac Fire PIO broadcasted the blaze on Periscope.

Original Story - Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Sacramento Fire Department reported three grass fires igniting within four hours along the American River Bike trail. There are currently 30 firefighters working on the blaze. The cause of the fires is unknown.

The Fire Department is reporting that one firefighter was removed from the scene due to exhaustion and one dog died.
