5:24 p.m. The grass fire burning on Highway 160 near Northgate Blvd. is now mostly contained with no structures threatened.
5:00 p.m. Sacramento fire crews are working to put out four grass fires along the Garden Highway and Truxel Road that have brought road closures. The fires started shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Chris Harvey with Sacramento Fire Department moments ago says 75-80 firefighters are working the largest fire, between the American River and Highway 160.
He says Garden Highway is closed between Truxel Road and Northgate Blvd. Harvey says the American River Parkway near Discovery Park will be closed due to smoke and firefighting operations.
