Original post: (AP) -- Hundreds of homes are under evacuation orders and thousands are threatened by a surging wildfire in the San Bernardino Mountains near Hesperia.

San Bernardino County sheriff's officials and the U.S. Forest Service tell the Los Angeles Times that 375 homes were under mandatory evacuation orders on Monday night because of the Pilot Fire.
