About 1,500 people whose properties are still serviceable are without power due to the Mendocino Complex, Carr and Ferguson wildfires burning in Northern California.
Utility companies are working to restore service in those areas.
Pacific Gas and Electric says 2,750 PG&E workers are preparing for the spread of the fires or restoring service.
"We are assessing damage to our equipment and doing any repair work we are able to do,” said spokeswoman Brandi Merlot, who continued, “Also, where we know the fire may be headed potentially, we are going out and trying to reduce some vegetation near lines or spray fire retardant on our power poles in the area."
Merlot said the outages are either related to damage caused by the fire or are precautionary outages requested by Cal Fire in anticipation of fire behavior.
Approximately 600 people are without power due to the Carr Fire west of Redding, 670 people are without as a result of the Mendocino Complex and 270 are without service in Yosemite and Mariposa County because of the Ferguson Fire.
