Andrew Wyeth, "Not Plowed," watercolor on paper, 1985
American painter Andrew Wyeth called winter a time “when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show.”
That’s often true of music inspired by the season, as well. We’ve highlighted some of it in another program, but there’s still lots more to share.
And so we present a second celebration of winter in music--by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Debussy, Holst, Piazzolla, and more.
