A remarkable program for Nevada City high school students that brings music and science together. Music students study the Yuba River salmon run and write a musical score based on their experiences. The compositions were then performed by a professional orchestra last summer as part of the Music in the Mountains festival. Insight talks with Music in the Mountains executive director Cristine Kelly about the unique student program and we’ll hear from documentary producer Mike Bloebaum, who created a film that will air on KVIE this week. Airing on KVIE Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7pm, Sunday 9/26 at 4pm, and Sunday 9/28 at 6pm.
