Michael Tubbs, the youngest mayor of a major California city and Stockton's first black mayor, has had his first six months rife with challenges.
Black Lives Matter protesters continue to protest police brutality at city hall, Stockton has among the highest crime rates in the state and the city's economy is still recovering from bankruptcy.
At age 26, Tubbs remains optimistic even with his first State of the City address this Thursday. He talks about future goals on Insight while reflecting his first half year as mayor.
A community forum open to the public will take place at the Faye Spanos Concert Hall Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m.
