California Senate budget chair Holly Mitchell.

Capital Public Radio Insight

As ongoing discussions over sexual assault and harassment continue at the Capitol, Sen. Holly Mitchell is convening a committee hearing on gender inequality in the workplace. As budget chair and a leader on juvenile justice reform, Mitchell has also focused a lot of her attention this year on uncovering the causes behind male-dominated industries and exploring ways the legislature can take on systematic gender discrimination in the workplace.

Mitchell previews the committee hearing this week and discusses the bills passed this year on juvenile justice reform, another key legislative victory for the Senator from Los Angeles.
