Asparagus Season Brings Choices For California Shoppers

Asparagus is grown in the Delta, the San Joaquin Valley and the Central Coast. California grows over 70 percent of the asparagus consumed in the U.S. but the state's asparagus production has declined 15 to percent annually since 2000.

(AP) - California pesticide regulators have fined six companies they say ignored warnings and repeatedly sold imported fruits and vegetables that contained illegal pesticide residues.
